Good day to you sir! I speak eenglish, I learned eet from aye book!

I think you have to have an english personality to like this show, it is VERY english.
I grew up around it, it's a classic.
I love the scene where Sybil is on the phone and Basil is getting really annoyed when she keeps saying 'Oh I knowww, I knowww... ooooh I knowww, yeahh, mmm... I knowww...'
Me and Dad were in the kitchen when Mum was on the phone to someone the other day, and she did a Sybil style 'ohh I knowww' response without realising and we both burst out laughing and then spent the next 10 minutes reciting it and teasing her.

My favourite sitcom everr Smile I grew up with it too.
I knew the scripts off by heart, so when we were younger I used to make my brother act the scenes out with me so I could be Basil .. he was Sybil & Polly & Manwell. Wink
I love the way Basil gets so frustrated with everything haha, & the fact he's such a snob & completely terrified of Sybil.
One of my favourite scenes, off the top of my head, is the one where he's giving the car "a damn good thrashing" lmao.
Oh and the Hitler walk, I mean come on, I've tried and nearly done myself an injury, John Cleese has skillsss.
Oh, oh, oh and the whole sequence in the 'Germans' episode when he's trying to do the fire drill hahaa.

Yesss love it, John Cleese & Connie Booth are geniuses!

DON'T MENTION THE WAR!

'Will you stop mentioning the war?'
'Well, you started it!'
'No we didn't, you invaded Poland!'

HAHAHA. I love that episode, Sarah! It's such a classic English thing to say.

I love how our humour is so lame and insulting. Yay Fawlty Towers!
I actually think it portrays us English so well... Ace Cool
