- Cinema bosses in Britain have piled pressure on film chiefs after joining the planned boycott of Tim Burton's new blockbuster "Alice In Wonderland."
Plans to launch the movie on DVD just three months after it hits cinemas have already sparked outrage in Holland, with many movie theater executives in the Netherlands refusing to show the picture if the early home release goes ahead.
Now U.K. cinemas bosses at Odeon, Vue and Cineworld have joined the protest, insisting the 3D film - starring Johnny Depp and Anne Hathaway - should be given the standard 17-week gap before it is made available for home viewing.
The move could leave many U.K. film fans unable to buy tickets for "Alice In Wonderland" when it hits movie theatres next month, as Odeon, Vue and Cineworld account for 60 per cent of British cinema screens, and more than 90 per cent of 3D screens.
