My Encounter - AIW Premiere - 25/02/2010

Okay, first of all... this has to be the worst premiere I've been to because of the stupid English weather and the fact no one came over really; luckily all the other premieres I've been to have been either warm and cloudy or extremely sunny and hot. Today, it TIPPED it down, completely.

We arrived there around 6:45am, it was the earliest we could get to Leicester Square for and there was already a line opposite the Odeon entrance; we waited at one end for a while but they told us paparazzi would be going there and that we needed to move. We went further down and ended up on the corner of the line facing the big wide open space (which would have been good had they not put a great big stupid green giraffe statue up and had everyone stand by it). They put the barriers up quite early and I so happened to be right next to the gate and spent the whole day letting people in and out; I couldn't sit down at all and I got so annoyed in the end, although it was good for when we needed to just walk out and stretch our legs.

I was with Emma (I'm not sure if any of you know her, you might)... I also saw jdsaby from Deppography (I think) and Ilaria from JohnnyDeppWeb... oh and Ali Baddley who I know over facebook. My Mum came with me who ended up hating the rain and wishing why she'd even gone, but she loved the fact Johnny Depp was infront of her.

The rain held off until about 2pm and then it started drizzling so everyone got the umbrellas out yet still managed to get soaked. We were chatting to a few of the security guards all they, they were exceptionally nice, one was called GeeGee and he was helping us out, telling us where to go, and asking us not to let people in, and saving boards for us by writing out names on them, getting people to move out of our way and telling us when Johnny was on his way. It helps getting to know security, he was really nice.

They closed everything off about 4:30pm and about 5:30pm, a few stars started arriving such as Michael Sheen, Mary Hart, Avril Lavigne, etc... and then Johnny arrived. We couldn't see the car because everyone was standing in the way (eventually they got told to move but it was still no good because of the stupid giraffe), we saw him quickly walk past but there was no chance for photos. He disappeared for a while then, I'm not sure what happened, he must have gone inside.

Helena and Tim, Matt Lucas started appearing... Mia but I never saw her, I saw Danny Elfman but none of them came over to us because of the rain. Tim came pretty close, as did Michael Sheen, the people next to me got autographs but then they left so I didn't get any. I wanted to meet Tim Burton but I've met him before so it's not the end of the world. My main focus was Johnny Depp... and by this time it had started to rain heavier.

Eventually Johnny came around to us and I didn't know whether to take pictures or video him, so I took one picture and then videoed him as he came past. He was so incredibly nice, he made the whole thing worthwhile because otherwise it would have been a complete waste of time. He signed the things to my left and as he saw my drawing (whether he does this to everyone or not I don't know) he said 'wow!' and signed it. I asked him to put it To Sarah, he repeated my name and I told him it was with a H. I commented it wasn't showing up very well and he said he thought it was because of the water and he's sorry but he tried. I told him thankyou very much anyway and smiled and Jerry was also really kind, apologising.

The girl next to me in the video was in tears because she was so overwhelmed about meeting him, and as she'd met him further down the line, she came in next to me to ask him if he'd gotten her letter, he said he'd look for it and then asked her name. He looked so concerned, he really is an incredible man, I'll give him that.

He took my friends drawing, signed a few more and then had to go somewhere else... it was all worth it for those few seconds. We stayed there for a bit but there really wasn't much point, so after about 10 minutes we persuaded the police to let us out because the rain had become heavier and we were completely drenched and freezing.

I wanted a photograph with him but his bodyguards were telling us no photographs, so that went down the drain. I'm really pleased with what I got, you can hear it all on the video. I have quickly gone over his signature in black pen because you could only just make out where he'd signed it and it didn't look very good. My proof he did it is on the video.

The pictures are all pretty bad quality and the people were so far away and never came over, it sucks. The video is pretty good though.

We arrived in Leicester Square at 5.30am and it was good because we got a very good place.We were in front of the Odeon's door and we saw everything from there.
We met a lot of nice people, especially a girl next to me,Nina; she was very nice and friendly with us.Then I met Sarah from here!(she didn't recognize me when I called her but then she got who I am ).
Everything is been so good all day long; the only two wrong things were:-the weather, and -a bloody old woman next to Fra.
-The weather: it stated to rain during the afternoon and we were wet like I don't know what....unluckly our paintings were wet too....(and the rain erased Michael Sheen autograph )
-The old woman: she was dirty, she smelt and she was very boring!She stole Fra's place against the gate too!everybody on there started to hate her because she wasn't funny and she played the part of not-understanding one....ridiculous....
Aside from her the whole day was great!the best organization I've ever seen on a big event like that(here in Italy it would never been like that!).
A lot of people were surprised that we got there in London only for Johnny....eheheh
(I don't want to repeat the same things Sarah wrote above so I go ahead until Johnny! )

"Ladies and gentle man please welcome Johnny Depp!"....OMG!he arrived!
I saw him walking on the green carpet, awesome as always! He did pics with paparazzi, then he did some interviews and then he was near his fans!!
He started to sign evrything people gave him and then he was there, opposite me.....he watched Fra's painting, signed it and smiled!
At the same time Jerry was thanking us to be there and waiting under the rain!He was talking with Johnny about all of us...Johnny was saying something about all the people who waited him with that rain....(I couldn't get it well...).
Then he went ahead 2/3 people next to us and he turned his head back, looked me into my eyes and he smiled to me!OMG!!!!!!!!I was dying! I couldn't do anything in that moment, I only smiled to him too(like an idiot) and then he went away.
I must say: he's amazing, awesome, charming, gentle man and really caring with us.
When he went far from us, Nina said to me:"My God,he's cool, I can't believe it! he was there....God..."(she was almost starting to cry )....I was very excited and in that moment I decided that I want to follow him every next premiere!!!
I'm very proud to be one of his big fan!he deserve our support!

Then we saw Tim Burton!He's funny and crazy!! I just love him!he went where we were and he signed our painting too!(there was a little girl behind me who was a Tim big fan and when he was there she started to cry because it was her first time in front of him....I took her at my place because she was very cute!)

Then we saw all the other celebrities : Helena Bohnam Carter was amazing in her black and white dress, wonderfeul Anne Hathaway, Mia Wasikowska who was wearing a lovely long dress, Avril Lavigne who was very very beautiful, Alan Rickman, Ozzy Osborne's wife( I don't remember her name now...), and a lot of other famous peolple....

It was a great experience at all and I can't wait to do it again!

I'm so happy you got meet them Ilaria, especially for the first time! It feels great, doesn't it?! Sorry for not recognising you, I had a lot of people coming up to me asking if I was Sarah and I was getting confused. I didn't know I was so known, haha!
